Sarah is the founder of Soma Yoga and was introduced to yoga in 2011 while majoring in Chemical Engineering. During challenging semesters, she discovered yoga's incredible stress-relieving benefits, which she credits for helping her navigate the high-pressure environment she faced. In 2015, Sarah experienced yoga's healing power again when yoga therapists at Rasa Yoga helped her heal from five years of ongoing sciatica pain. This deepened her passion for yoga and confirmed her desire to train extensively in yoga therapy for self-transformation and to pass on this knowledge.
Sarah completed her International Association of Yoga Therapy (IAYT) certification, which she considers her most rewarding training, having witnessed its transformative effect on others. Her training and knowledge in Ayurveda yoga are influenced by many teachers in her lineage, with her primary influence being her guru, Padma Shakti. Through Rasa Yoga, she obtained her RYT-200, RYT-500, C-IAYT yoga therapy, and Ayurveda certifications. Currently, Sarah is pursuing her Ayurveda Health Counselor (AHC) certification in partnership with Yoga Veda Institute and Rasa Yoga.
She also completed her prenatal yoga specialization at Mind the Mat, studying under Sara Vandergoot and Caroline Deitch. Presently, Sarah continues to study under Padma Shakti, mentor Gayatri Asita, and Sanskrit teachers Kristin and Randall Brooks. She is deeply grateful for the guidance of her many teachers and all those who came before them, whose love and dedication have shaped her journey.
