Courtney began practicing yoga after searching for a way to maintain and build strength after a long career of gymnastics and diving. Yoga increasingly became a central, guiding force in supporting not just her physical body, but her emotional and spiritual health over the years. After nearly 15 years of a personal home practice and attending select studio classes, Courtney completed her RYT-200 training with Mind the Mat Pilates & Yoga in spring 2022 and earned her prenatal yoga certification through Mind the Mat in 2023. Courtney is also specifically trained in after baby and postpartum yoga, a training she also completed in 2023.
She has over 400 hours of yoga teaching experience, which includes hours teaching prenatal- and after-baby specific classes, foundational and vinyasa style flows, and power yoga. Courtney approaches her classes with a focus on breath, mindful and safe transitions, accessible but strength-building flow sequences, and a deep commitment to creating a safe and welcoming space for practice.
